Peripheral Interventions
What is needed for the treatment of peripheral artery disease?
For diagnosis:
-

Angiography set
Includes an introducer, an angiographic catheter, and a diagnostic guidewire, providing a ready-to-use solution for convenient diagnostic procedures. -

Introducers
Introducers for radial and femoral access are available in various lengths and diameters, including hydrophilic-coated options. The portfolio includes solutions from Terumo and Merit Medical.
-

Diagnostic guidewires
Diagnostic guidewires from Terumo and Merit Medical are available in different diameters and lengths, with various tip shapes, stiffness levels, and coatings, allowing the optimal solution to be selected for vascular navigation depending on anatomy and the specifics of the procedure.
-

Angiographic catheters
Angiographic catheters from Terumo and Merit Medical for radial and femoral access are available in various configurations, shapes, and sizes, allowing the instrument to be selected according to anatomical characteristics and clinical procedural needs.
For treatment:
-

Slender introducers
Glidesheath Slender is a thin-walled introducer by Terumo for radial access, with an outer diameter one size smaller than standard. Thanks to its hydrophilic coating, it minimizes vascular trauma, reduces the risk of spasm, and allows the use of larger-diameter instruments even in narrow arteries.
-

Peripheral support catheters
Sergeant (iVascular) is a peripheral support catheter designed for navigation in complex anatomy and small vessels. Its key feature is a fully braided shaft that provides excellent maneuverability and torque transmission. The catheter has distal markers for lesion length assessment, an atraumatic radiopaque tip, and a wear-resistant Hydrax Plus hydrophilic coating for smooth passage through tortuous arteries.
-

Peripheral dilatation catheters
Oceanus (iVascular) is an OTW (Over-The-Wire) coaxial balloon catheter specifically designed for the dilatation of stenoses in peripheral arteries, including the renal, femoral, and popliteal arteries. Thanks to its dual-lumen shaft, low profile, and Hydrax Plus hydrophilic coating, it provides excellent trackability through tortuous vessels and complex lesions. A wide range of sizes allows precise instrument selection for effective lumen restoration even in small distal vessels.
-

Drug-coated peripheral dilatation catheters
Luminor (iVascular) is a line of OTW peripheral balloon catheters with drug coating (paclitaxel), developed for effective dilatation and restenosis prevention in a wide range of vessels. Thanks to their coaxial dual-lumen design and hydrophilic coating, these balloons provide excellent trackability and precise control in tortuous anatomy. The range includes three versions for different guidewires and intervention types: Luminor 14 m for small distal segments (diameters 1.5–4 mm), Luminor 18 as a universal solution, including fistula work (diameters 2–8 mm), and Luminor 35 for large arteries such as the iliac and renal arteries (diameters 5–7 mm).
-

Balloon-expandable peripheral stent systems
Restorer (iVascular) is a peripheral stent system intended for the treatment of de novo atherosclerotic peripheral arterial lesions and restenotic lesions, including those of the iliac artery and the deep and proximal femoral arteries, as well as for palliative treatment of malignant biliary strictures, with nominal diameters from 5 to 10 mm.
-

Self-expanding peripheral stent systems
iVolution Pro by iVascular is a modern self-expanding peripheral stent system designed for the treatment of de novo atherosclerotic and restenotic lesions in peripheral arteries located below the aortic arch, as well as for palliative treatment of malignant biliary strictures, with nominal diameters from 4.5 to 9.5 mm.

Inflation devices
Merit Medical inflation devices, including the Basix Compak, Basix Touch, and Blue Diamond series, are an industry standard thanks to the combination of highly accurate pressure gauges (up to 30 atm) and ergonomic design. They are equipped with a rapid-release mechanism for immediate balloon deflation and a transparent body for air-bubble monitoring. The range includes both compact models for routine procedures and large-volume options (Big 60) for peripheral interventions, ensuring reliability and pressure stability.
-
Access site closure devices
Angio-Seal™ VIP (Terumo) is an active femoral artery closure device that provides rapid hemostasis using absorbable collagen, an anchor, and a small polymer component. Its main advantage is mechanical puncture sealing based on a sandwich principle, which allows the patient to ambulate much earlier and shortens hospitalization time.
-

Hemostatic bands
TR Band™ (Terumo) and Prelude Sync DISTAL (Merit Medical) are radial artery compression devices used after transradial procedures. TR Band is a classic standard with a transparent design for visual monitoring and a unique air-chamber structure that selectively compresses the artery. Prelude Sync DISTAL is specifically designed for hemostasis in the anatomical snuffbox area (distal radial access); it has an ergonomic curved shape and an offset band that provides stable fixation in this challenging area while preserving thumb mobility.
-

Angiographic needles
Merit Advance angiographic needles by Merit Medical are ultra-sharp needles designed for rapid and precise vascular access. They feature an ergonomic design that helps the physician maintain clear control during puncture. Thanks to their thin walls and echogenic tip for ultrasound guidance, the needle passes easily through tissues and allows smooth guidewire insertion with minimal trauma to the patient.
-

Hemostatic valves
Merit Medical hemostatic valves provide reliable sealing and blood-loss control during interventional procedures. They feature a wide inner lumen that allows several instruments to pass simultaneously, as well as a convenient screw or push mechanism for quick one-handed manipulation. Thanks to their durable construction and stable instrument fixation, these valves minimize the risk of blood backflow even during long and complex procedures.
-

Manifolds
Manifolds by Merit Medical are reliable fluid-distribution systems that allow the physician to switch quickly between contrast injection, saline flushing, and pressure measurement. They are made of transparent polycarbonate for easy detection of air bubbles and are equipped with convenient 360° rotating handles for smooth channel switching with minimal effort.
-

Stopcocks
Stopcocks by Merit Medical are high-strength single- and multi-port switches made of transparent polycarbonate for full control of fluid flow and air-bubble detection. They are designed to operate under pressure up to 1,050 psi and feature easy-to-turn handles that ensure tight sealing and reliable Luer Lock connection.
-

High-pressure tubing
Connecting tubing for contrast delivery and catheter flushing during neurointerventional procedures, designed to withstand significant pressure. The transparent material allows visual flow monitoring and timely detection of air bubbles, which is a critically important safety factor when working in the cerebral vasculature.
-

Coronary syringes
Medallion (Merit Medical) is a line of specialized syringes developed for precise and safe drug delivery during interventional procedures. They feature color-coded barrels in seven variants, allowing instant medication identification in the operating room and helping prevent medical errors. Thanks to the transparent barrel with a clear scale, smooth plunger movement, and secure Luer Lock connection, these syringes ensure maximum dosing accuracy and stable performance under pressure.
-

Snares
EN Snare® and ONE Snare® are nitinol snares by Merit Medical for the retrieval of foreign bodies from vessels, distinguished by excellent radiopacity and resistance to deformation. EN Snare features a unique three-loop interlaced design for three-dimensional capture of the entire vessel lumen, which facilitates retrieval of objects located near the vessel wall, whereas ONE Snare is a classic single-loop 90° snare intended for precise coaxial capture during standard manipulations.
